Craft Gin Club
My latest obsession is…. Gin! So much so, that I have created a ‘Gin Bar’ in my house, I now collect bottles of Gin and I’ve joined the ‘Craft Gin Club’!
Craft Gin Club is an online gin lovers subscription service. Each month a box of goodies is prepared for members. This includes a full size bottle of one of the world’s finest small-batch gins, along with a range of complementary gourmet treats and a copy of the club magazine “Ginned!’ When you sign up you join the UK’s largest online community of gin lovers, where you can share photos, exchange tips and win prizes. Although there is a new box each month, you can choose to get a box every other month or every quarter. You can amend, pause or cancel your membership, no questions asked, at any time.
I’m currently enjoying the goodies from the March box! The gin is ‘Elg gin No. 1’ from Denmark. This gin contains just three botanicals – juniper, coriander seed and danish carrot! The accompanying magazine gives the background of the gin and allows us to ‘meet the maker’. There are suggestions of how to serve the gin in a range of drinks. My favourite this month is the ‘Marmalade G&T’ which mixes the gin with a spoonful of ‘Bonne Maman marmalade’ (one of this months gourmet treats), tonic water and a wedge of orange to garnish.
The magazine contains articles on all things gin, including recipes! This month the suggested recipe was ‘Elg Gin No.1 Carrot Cake’, which of course I had to bake!
Also included in this month’s box are bottles of ‘Franklin & Son’s natural light tonic’ and ‘Newton’s Appl Fizzics’, Pipers Jalapeño and Dill crisps and ‘Divine Dark Hazelnut Chocolate’. All of this is worth at least £50, but you get it for £40!
