Blog Launch!
Today (the 26th May 2017) is the day that I launch my blog.
It’s a very significant date as it would have been the 42nd Birthday of my late Husband Greg, who we lost in February after a year long illness.
He was a truly wonderful man who always supported my daydreams of coffee and cake! He was a huge encouragement to me in setting up this blog. He was dragged to many a coffee shop to sample and critique their beverages and would force feed his Police colleagues with my cupcakes! He also took many of the fabulous photographs of my cakes that will feature on the blog.
So today I mark the occasion of his Birthday by launching ‘The Barista Baker’ as a tribute to him x
Of course you can’t have a launch/birthday party without cake! And today the Rees family will be tucking into a homemade Angel Cake (recipe to follow on the blog at a later date!)

What a fabulous tribute to Greg. We wish you all the best with your blog and can’t wait to see what you bake, drink and find on your journey. I will raise a cup of coffee to Greg today, and may even partake in some cake if I can find one worthy of the day.

Crumbs you are off toa good start ! Love.cake, and retired from SWP 4 years ago and have time to cook so look forward to the recipes – not much of a baker mind and have recently lost 4 stone 12 lb and trying to keep it off so any skinny cakes be good!
