Alfie’s Coffee Bus

Last week I had the pleasure of collaborating with Alfie’s Coffee Bus to caffeinate the staff at my local primary school as a thank you for their efforts as key workers during the pandemic. So just before 8 o’clock last Friday morning the distinctive green VW Caddy pulled into my drive!
This is just a brilliant idea, especially so in the midst of a global pandemic! Alfie’s grabbed my attention online by asking ‘Are you fed up of the same rubbish instant coffee that you have to endure at work? How would you like us to come and visit you and help get you through your mid-morning slump?’ I was intrigued. Even though I am a barista with a pretty decent home coffee set up, I was keen to bag a visit. The promise of freshly roasted coffee made in front of my very eyes, along with mouth-watering chocolate brownies was too much to resist! It’s easy to book a slot via their website (www.alfiescoffeeco.co.uk). They cover Carmarthen on a Tuesday & Thursday, Llanelli on a Wednesday and Swansea on a Friday.
Based in Cefneithin, Carmarthensire, Alfie’s Coffee Co also roast their own coffee and offer coffee subscriptions. On the van they offer a range of espresso based drinks, as well as hot chocolate and the aforementioned homemade brownies. Needless to say the school staff were delighted! After 15 years of drinking cold instant coffee in the classroom myself I know what a treat a freshly ground coffee is… especially on a Friday morning!
Thank you to Alfie’s Coffee Bus for visiting, hope to see you soon.
