Probably one of the coolest places I’ve ever had a coffee served to me from is ‘The Thirsty Elephant’.  This is a unique VW coffee van serving speciality coffee from my friends at Coaltown Coffee.

I visited ‘The Thirsty Elephant’ whilst it was set up alongside Pontyclun train station.  It is situated here, just outside ‘The Brunel Arms’, 7-10am on Tuesday – Thursday mornings.  I chatted with owner Chris over a ‘Black Gold No. 3’ flat white!  One of my favourites!  In addition to coffee and other hot beverages, they also serve brownies from ‘The Chocolate Brownie Co’.

As well as being situated at the train station, ‘The Thirsty Elephant’ can be found at Talbot Green Market on a Saturday between the hours of 7am and 1pm.  They are available for festivals, corporate events and weddings.  They recently appeared at ‘CwtchFest’, a wedding festival at St Fagans and will be making an appearance at this weekends ‘Swansea Street Food Festival’.  Keep an eye out for them at other future events such as the Cardiff Half Marathon in October.
