Chocolate Orange Cupcakes

A few weeks back I posted a recipe for my very versatile Chocolate Cupcakes! With the simple addition of orange to the frosting they can very easily be transformed into Chocolate Orange Cupcakes! A firm festive favourite!
To make Chocolate Orange Cupcakes, follow the Chocolate Cupcake recipe (posted 19/10/17) and simply add a teaspoon of orange oil or extract to the frosting. For my latest batch I used ‘Tesco Valencian Orange Extract’ (£1.30 for 60ml), although all supermarkets do their own version. You can use freshly squeezed orange juice in place of the extract, although I find that you need to add more of this than the extract to achieve the same intensity of flavour. This can have the knock on effect of making the frosting too runny.
To decorate the cupcakes, it has to be slices of Terry’s Chocolate Orange! A taste of Christmas!
